ACTION ALERT: Tell Cheney’s aid to recommend a NO vote on the repeal of the Affordable Care Act

Our grapevine is working. Tammy Hooper, a staff person in Liz Cheney’s Cheyenne office (307-772-2595), had a call from Rep. Cheney this morning. Cheney is still reading the ACA repeal bill as is her Legislative Analyst Sarah Meier (sarah.meier@mail.house.gov  202-225-2311).  Once this is accomplished, Cheney will release a statement or comment on her position regarding the repeal of the ACA.

Address remarks and requests to vote NO on the repeal to Sarah Meier.

On Thursday, Senator Alan Simpson and his wise wife, Ann, visited with the organizers of Wyoming Rising–Northwest to offer advice on effective advocacy. My take-away from the meeting was their advice that personal connections and personal stories matter when trying to get through to a representative. If you will be personally harmed by the repeal of the ACA or unable to afford the GOP replacement, put your story into a letter or email or phone call. Your stories matter.

  1. I called Cheney’s office and emailed Sarah. During an informal meet-and-greet meeting in Casper on January 18th, Rep. Cheney said, “You have my absolute commitment that I’m certainly not going to support anything that will kick people off of the care they have now.” http://k2radio.com/liz-cheney-vows-no-harm-in-replacing-the-affordable-care-act/

  2. Carla, thank you for noticing the error. Its fixed now.

  3. I called Cheney’s office today to support a no vote and the reasons why. Also the email addresses for Enzi and Barasso are mixed up on this alert.
