Lawmakers fail to override Mead’s veto of “critical infrastructure” bill

Thank you to all that called and emailed our Wyoming representatives.

This industry-sponsored bill would have taken away people’s right to free speech by making anyone opposing controversial developments vulnerable to felony charges, and organizations supporting the protests – even without money, only free speech – vulnerable to $1 million fines.

The bill was intended to provide industry a legal way to label groups whose efforts to protect people and the environment as illegal attempts to slow or stop fossil fuel production.

We don’t expect this issue to be dead. Like a zombie, you can expect to see this rise again. Stay vigilant.
