Park County District 6 Board of Trustees meeting on April 17 includes the third and final reading of the “CKA” Policy
Please contact Board Members or attend the meeting tomorrow to express your opposition to the Final Reading of Policy CKA. The Regular Board Meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Westside Annex Board Room. April 17, 2018.
There are two NO votes on the board. If we can convince just one more member, it will go to a tie and they’ll have to table it.
If you’ve never been to a board meeting, this is the one to attend. Policy CKA will authorize employees to conceal carry firearms on property or in facilities owned or leased by Park County School District No. 6. Wyoming Rising-Northwest members are firmly opposed to this policy.
If you cannot attend, please write to the School Board members at http://www.park6.org/Governing-Board
We have been fighting this proposal for months.
Many, many thanks all.

Regardless of outcome of this vote, it is important to remember how important “raising our voices” has been in this divisive issue. There are more hurtles to overcome as this issue either is tabled or passes. Keeping students safe involves far more than passing policy CKA. We must continue to speak to better safety procedures that will provide more assurance of safety than staff being armed. Success is speaking out on subjects after sincere education on issues. Passing policy based on political or financial gain will, in the long run, not accomplish the objective. Thank you for your honest, factual and passionate support of students.
