More than 2,300 children have been taken away from their parents at the U.S. border and sent to shelters, detention centers and foster families all across the country, with seemingly no clear tracking mechanism. The executive order that ended immediate family separation does not say anything about the plan to reunite these families, and the administration confirmed that it will not be making any special efforts to do so.
Compassionate members of our community call for the 2,300 children that have already been taken to be immediately reunited with their parents. We oppose the massive internment of families who come to the United States seeking asylum. We oppose the immigration policies of the Trump Administration, Department of Homeland Security, and I.C.E. and call for immediate reform.
The people of Northwest Wyoming are standing together in a silent vigil for immigrant families every noon hour from Monday June 25 to Friday June 29 in Cody and in Powell
Powell: Southside of Coulter Ave. on the corner of Bent St.
Cody: Northwest corner of 16th Street and Sheridan Ave.
Please bring signs to hold and consider wearing a yellow wristband in solidarity. Check our Facebook page for updates.
