Join #WyoSayNo and Wyoming Rising for a Fiesta in Powell and Cody this week!

Wyoming Rising and #WyoSayNo are happy to co-host two events this week celebrating our community and the families that live in it. We invite you to join us at a “Fiesta de Familias” where we can discuss how to take action here in Wyoming to stop family separations not just at the border, but everywhere.

In light of the actions of ICE, the Justice Department, and the proposed immigration prison in Uinta County, #WyoSayNo is partnering with local organizations across the state to build community and solidarity. #WyoSayNo is a grassroots coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to stopping the proposed Uinta County Immigration Prison. We support their mission to keep our families together, protect our rural communities, and to say Wyoming won’t detain for private gain!

As part of it’s statewide campaign, #WyoSayNo is making canvas banners and inviting members of each community to add their hand prints on the banner to show that people in Wyoming are coming together hand in hand against the possible prison in Uinta County. The banners we will make this week will read “POWELL SAY NO!” and “CODY SAY NO!”.  In this way you can raise your hand in opposition to the proposed prison and show support for the people on the front lines of this fight. If you have other things going on this week but still want to show solidarity against immigration detention, you can swing by just to add your hand-print to the canvas
