The Affordable Care Act (ACA or “Obamacare”) has a nationwide Open Enrollment Period for individuals and families who need to purchase their own health insurance. The 2019 open enrollment period ends on December 15, 2018.
Even if you were enrolled in an ACA plan in 2018, you should check the Marketplace website to see if another plan is better for you this next year. How much you’ll pay in 2019 depends on changes to the assistance available to you, your premium and your personal situation, like a change in income or household size. In addition, the cost and coverage of different plans changes from year to year.
