Since January, we’ve had a flurry of new subscribers on our website – about 3 a day – which is unusual. This week I did some investigating and discovered many subscribers had Russian email addresses (.ru), others had odd email addresses such as “@lay.favbat.com” and still others chose usernames completely different than their email name.
I’ve deleted all of the Russians and several peculiar addresses. If you were among them, I apologize. New subscriptions to our website is temporarily disabled until I install additional anti-spam software.
A subscription to our website enables someone to get email updates whenever a new post is published. Its a great feature and many of our followers use it. But fake subscribers could potentially hack a website and steal the addresses of real subscribers.

You can protect yourself from spammers with a few easy precautions. Its unlikely this will happen, but if you get an email made to appear as if it originated from the administrator of this site asking you to change your password, it’s not from us. Wyoming Rising will never email you about your account or password. If you get a message like that, please delete it, don’t click on any links or attachments.
We use anti-spam software which should prevent any illicit use, but we want to give you a heads-up that we have been experiencing an upswing in strange subscribers to this website.
