About this event:
Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them.
They’re taking everything they can get their hands on and daring the world to stop them. On Saturday, April 5th, Americans are taking to the streets nationwide to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!
On Saturday, April 5th, we’re taking to the streets in Wyoming to send a clear message:
HANDS OFF!
Where: Cody City Park, 908 Sheridan Ave.
When: 12:00–1:00 PM, April 5, 2025
What: Bring protest signs and line the sidewalks to show Park County that many of us disagree with Elon Musk and the Trump Administration’s actions.
This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire friends. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.
Details about accessibility and parking:
We plan gather near the Bandstand at City Park to hear a group of speakers. Then we will march over to the County Building and line the sidewalk along Sheridan Ave. To ensure greater visibility on Sheridan Ave, plan to park elsewhere. Be very aware of your safety when crossing streets. Extra protest signs are available if you don’t have time to make one of your own.
We are not certain that the public restrooms in the Park will be open, but our event is scheduled for just one hour. The weather is forecast to be 48 degrees and dry. The sidewalks are level and wheelchair accessible. Children are welcome.
Details about safety:
We have heard there may be a counter-protest near the mini golf area, so we have asked the police to assign an officer to help maintain peace. A core principle behind all Wyoming Rising events is a commitment to nonviolence. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
Watch and share this video on calming and de-escalation strategies. Dartmouth Trauma Interventions Research Center created this overview of proven de-escalation techniques.
Wyoming Rising events are peaceful and civil and we want to make sure they stay safe and welcoming for all.
