Dear Friends,
I’m hoping you’ll help spread the word about the importance of the upcoming primaries. Most of you know we’re the first state in the country to have a Freedom Caucus majority in the state legislature. That made us a proving ground for the Project 2025 agenda this year. The FC attempted to introduce over 500 whacko bills this legislative session authored by out-of-state entities. They were thwarted on most of them only because it’s an even year (budget session) requiring a 2/3 majority. But we must demolish the Freedom Caucus majority or they will succeed in next year’s legislative session.
Most people vote in the general election in November, but in Wyoming, most races are determined in the primary election. In this year’s primary on Aug. 18, voters will see all five statewide offices on the ballot: governor, secretary of state, auditor, treasury secretary and superintendent of public education. We have many open State Senate and House seats, and we have a U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative election.
For many Democrats in Wyoming, the only way to have a voice in the primary elections means voting as Republicans against FC candidates. Thanks to Chuck Gray’s change to Wyoming’s voting rules, Democrats can no longer change party on election day. The deadline to change your party affiliation in the primaries is May 13, 2026. Please spread the word!
Who are the Freedom Caucus? Here’s a list of them from the Wyoming Grit website: https://wyominggrit.org/wyoming-freedom-caucus-members
Also, the rules for registering to vote for those not already registered changed in 2024. We know that the Freedom Caucus got into the legislature because many people were unprepared to register and did not vote. The statistics for the 2024 primary election reveal that only 36% of eligible voting-age Park County residents participated, 8,975 out of 24,890. Please spread the word to anyone wishing to register.

Thanks for all you do!
