Update: Winter Program Series at Heart Mountain Interpretive Center to Highlight Camp’s History.
March 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
According to the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation website, all programs and events at the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center have been canceled for the next 8 weeks. But the center hopes to be able to stream the Notable Women of Heart Mountain program on Facebook LIve.
“As big as our museum is, we aren’t always able to tell these kinds of individual stories,” says Russell. “I want to highlight some of the parts of this history that don’t always get the attention they deserve.” This final program in the series will look at the lives of some of Heart Mountain’s most influential women.
Heart Mountain Interpretive Center tells the story of some 14,000 Japanese Americans unjustly incarcerated in Wyoming from 1942 through 1945. The center is located between Cody and Powell on Highway 14A. Museum admission is $9.00 for adults and $7.00 for students and seniors. Children under 12 and members of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation are free. For more information please call (307) 754-8000 or visit www.heartmountain.org.
