Park County Commissioners

Three of the five seats on the Park County Commission will be up for grabs Nov. 6 — seats currently held by commission chair Loren Grosskopf as well as commissioners Joe Tilden and Tim French.

Tilden has said he is planning on running for a third term while Grosskopf and French do not plan to run again.

As of May 11, three local Republicans have announced runs for the board: Dossie Overfield of Cody, Lloyd Thiel of Clark and Heart Mountain resident Pat Stuart.

All five seats are currently held by Republicans, and in 2016 there were no Democratic candidates for the position. That could mean the candidates’ real test will come in the Aug. 21 primary, where the top three vote-getters from each party will advance to the Nov. 6 general election ballot.
